Meet the Team

Founder & Owner

Kerry is originally from Canada and holds two Bachelors in Fine Arts degrees from Champlain College and at the International Academy of Design and Technology and Design (IADT).  After receiving her degree from IADT in 2008, and because of her love and passion for kids and art combined, she founded Easel Art Studio.  Kerry loves how art allows children to express themselves in ways they usually can’t.  She enjoys seeing a child grow their creativity and curiosity while painting, sculpting, drawing, or sewing.  If you can’t find her at Easel, she’s probably training for a triathlon or painting at her home studio.  Kerry loves what she does, and it shows in the laughter and smiles all around you when you come to Easel Art.

Owner & Business Manager

Shima is a native of Texas and a University of Texas at Austin graduate.  As a mother of 2 artists, Shima truly believes in surrounding children with real art from the very beginning to enhance their creativity, learning ability, and spark the visual discovery of their surroundings.  She hopes that each family and child knows that at Easel Art Studio we are dedicated to enriching young lives through artistic expression.

Lead Teacher & Camp Director

Jess is an Iowa native and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the University of Iowa.  Her creative candle is always burning, and she stays true to that by painting everyday in her home studio.  She enjoys painting personal pieces for people, cooking, playing with her dog, George, and traveling to Colorado to visit family.  Jess has been sharing her passion for art at Easel for 8 years, and has continued to dedicate her knowledge in art to help children develop artistically whether in a group class or individually.  Jess truly enjoys teaching children to look at the initial foundations of the art making process so they can grow and learn to create their own inspired masterpiece.

Sr. Teacher

Natalia found her passion for art around the time she learned to use a pair of scissors. She would cut old Christmas and birthday cards and turn them into elaborate collaged books. She eventually went on to study printmaking at the San Francisco Art Institute, where she furthered her bookmaking skills and grew as an artist. The eldest of three, she is a natural leader and nurturer, working with kids for over ten years as a swim instructor, nanny, and an art teacher. When she's not teaching she’s serving food at Bite, baking pies, or crocheting a scarf!

Delaney is a Columbia College Chicago graduate from Minneapolis. She has been part of the Easel team for 5 years, and began her involvement in the art community through her studies in vocal performance and dance. Her passion for yoga has led her to teach in several studios in the Chicago area, and contribute a Monday night yoga class each week at Easel Art Studio. Delaney loves the energy at Easel, and the open environment created for so many awesome kids.

Jillian is originally from Philadelphia and received her bachelor's in fine arts from Bloomsburg University and her master's degree in elementary & special education from Saint Joseph's University.  She has a passion for creating art and teaching children.  She works with fiber arts, painting, printmaking, drawing, and sculpture, and has worked in elementary & preschools for the past 9 years.  Jillian loves to learn, but really loves learning with her students.  She enjoys teaching at Easel because she can share both her passions with children.
